Alcohol Beverage Training/RBS
What is Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Training?
Responsible Beverage Service training educates persons seeking employment or who are currently employed as servers of alcohol beverages for on-premises consumption. It aims to provide servers with the necessary skills to responsibly serve alcohol beverages and mitigate alcohol-related harm in California communities.
Is RBS Required in California?
On July 1, 2022, the State Law AB 1221 made RBS training mandatory at the state level. This requires any on-premise alcohol server and manager to be certified by an accredited RBS training provider and pass an ABC exam within 60 calendar days from the first date of employment.
